Thank you Donna MacRae Valentines 2015 Fundraiser

Funds were presented by Donna MacRae, auction co-ordinator, today to Melanie Young (left) from Mel’s Farm All Animal Rescue, Jill Woods (second from right)from Feathered Haven and Shelly Dickie (far right) from Dickie’s Cause 4 Paws. Missing is Jessica from All Creatures Great & Small. In addition, funds from the sale of earring set was sent to Sofia Hadjis for Ste Adele Cats at 120.00.

Message from Shelly at Dickie’s Cause 4 Paws ” Thanks to your generosity, Dickie’s Cause 4 Paws will continue to save the lives of hundreds of homeless or abandoned cats and kittens in Lanark County.

Your donations also provide our Trap Neuter Return services to feral cats living in our neighborhoods. Your donations allow us to rescue the feral kittens, care for, socialize and find permanent homes for them.

T.N.R is a humane, nonlethal method of population control, is more effective than trap-and-kill, and is reflective of our communities that care.”
Jill Woods will be using the funds towards the ongoing medication expense and vetting of Aspen, a little 9 year old goffin cockatoo who is a self mutilator and will also be used towards special collar dresses that prevent her from picking and mutilating herself.

And from Mel at Mel’s Farm: “these funds will help us vet a poor stray cat that came off the streets of Smiths Falls. It was completely covered in scabs and was brought in by a fantastic couple who help strays in downtown Smiths Falls. They could only go that far with vet care because of finances and there was no other local rescue that would take him. Some of the money will go towards helping a Guinea pig with a lump on its head, care for our blind pony and a little old thyroid cat named Molly”.
